Calatheas are known for their bold patterned foliage. The leaves of most Calathea varieties fold up slightly during the night time, revealing the often colorful undersides of their striking leaves.
- Light - Calathea should be grown in medium to low light. This lovely tropical doesn't tolerate direct sunlight on its leaves, so keep it out of direct sunlight to avoid burns.
- Water - Water calathea just enough to keep it moist but not sloppy. Although this is not a drought-tolerant houseplant, it is forgiving if you forget to water it every now and then.
- Humidity - Calathea, like many tropical indoor plants, requires low to medium light and plenty of humidity. The leaf margins may turn brown and crispy if the air is too dry or the plant dries out too regularly.
Tips: Remove any yellow leaves to keep your plant strong and growing. Do not use any shine products on the leaves, instead, clean leaves occasionally with a damp cloth.
